This walnut stick seems useless but it is actually an expandable knot. The technique used here are rhino for 3d modeling, cnc of the knot holes and hand finish. This wood stick can be expanded into three separate parts: the top, the middle and the bottom. These three parts are then interlocked at the middle with each other to form a standing tripod. This seemlingly useless object can be used as a display shelf, a table feet or a structure of a cat house.
